LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College Equestrian Team had another strong showing tying for third place Saturday at The University of Lynchburg's show, hosted by Sweet Briar College.
Michael Golinowski placed fourth in Open on the flat and sixth in Open over fences for team points.
Caroline Shipe was third place in Intermediate over fences for the team and Samantha Hawrysko pinned fourth in Intermediate over fences as an individual. Megan Heffernan won the Intermediate on the flat class for the team.
Georgia Osborne and Katelyn Dugan both received sixth-place ribbons in Novice over fences with Katelyn's points going toward the team total. Isabel Ammendolia placed first for team points in Novice on the flat with Georgia Osborne receiving a fourth in Novice on the flat as an individual.
Hannah Foster won her Advanced walk trot canter class for team points with Kayla Parker adding a second place in her Beginner Walk Trot Canter debut as an individual. Ryanna Power received a fourth place in the walk trot division to finish the team points standings total of 32 for the day.
It was a very close competition for the final show in the IHSA Zone 4 Region 2 fall semester standings. The University of Virginia won with 35 points, Hollins University and James Madison tied for second with 34 points while Bridgewater College, Randolph College and Washington and Lee University all tied for third place with 32 points, leaving the host Lynchburg with 22 points and Roanoke with 4 points.
Unofficial fall semester point totals are led by Randolph College with 133 points followed by Virginia with 113, Bridgewater College with 102, Hollins with 101, Washington and Lee with 93, JMU with 89, University of Lynchburg with 68 and Roanoke College with 29.
