LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College IHSA team kicked off the Spring semester with a second place finish at Randolph College this weekend.
Michael Golinowski started the day off strong with a second place in Open Flat.
In Intermediate Fences, Samantha Hawrysko took fifth place for the team while Caroline Shipe placed fourth individually. Megan Heffernan was third in Intermediate Flat for team points. Shipe and Hawrysko also competed in Intermediate Flat, with Shipe taking second and Hawrysko claiming sixth.
Novice Fences brought a fourth place finish for Katelyn Dugan and the team. Georgia Osborne finished fifth place as an individual. In Novice Flat, Isabel Ammendolia captured second place for the Eagles. Individually, Laurin Watts won first place and Osborne took second.
Jenny Searles made the most of her IHSA debut with a blue ribbon win in Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter. Britney Linick also made her IHSA debut with a third place in Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter. Both riders competed as individuals.
Kayla Parker finished in second place in Beginner Walk-Trot-Canter for team points.
Jessica Goodman competed in her first IHSA competition with a second place in Walk-Trot to round off the Eagles' team score.
Randolph College won the show with 42 points, while Bridgewater took second with 29 points. Following the top two were Hollins with 28 points, U.Va. with 27 points, Washington and Lee with 19 points, James Madison with 17 points, Lynchburg with 16 points, and Roanoke with 11 points.
Bridgewater maintains its third place standing in IHSA Zone 4 Region 2, behind Randolph College and the University of Virginia.
