WEYERS CAVE, Va. - Bridgewater College opened its IDA season Sunday with a victory at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center. Bridgewater tallied 16 points to take the championship. Virginia Tech and Emory & Henry tied with 13 points and Tech won the tiebreaker to claim second place. Appalachian State was fourth with nine points, followed by University of Virginia with five points and Radford with four.
Starting the day in the First Level Division, Melissa Limpicki took first place with a 76.6% score while Natalie Ellis finished in fourth place for individual points.
In Upper Training Level, Jemma Constant was second for team points with 73.269% and Connor Poe was fourth with 71.346% as an individual.
In the Lower Training Division, Devon Francis was fourth for the team with a score of 71.305%. Sam Creveling was fifth with a 68.696% for individual points
The Introductory Division saw individual Emelia Tumminello take second with 66.250% followed by Jenny Searles in third place for the team with 64.688%. Also in the divison Walter Robb and Kelly Magill tied with a score of 59.688% with the breaker going to Robb.
High Point Rider of the day was Melissa Lempicki for her First Level Division win.
Results for Dressage Seat Equitation were as follows.
First Level, Melissa Lempicki was first, Michael Golinowski placed second.
Upper Training, Jemma Constant was first, Connor Poe was fourth.
Lower Training, Sam Creveling was fifth and Nicole McBride-Glascock was seventh.
Introductory 1, Jenny Searles placed second followed by Emelia Tumminello in third place.
Introductory 2, Kelly Magill was third with Walter Robb placing fourth.
