WEYERS CAVE, Va. - The Bridgewater IHSA tied for fourth place Saturday at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center in a show co-hosted by Bridgewater and James Madison University.
The show featured nine teams competing from Zone 4, Region 1. Teams enjoyed a rare outside show that was efficiently run. The horses from BC and JMU gave competitors solid, even rides despite the frosty start in early morning schooling sessions.
Next up was Open with Melissa Lempicki receiving fourth on the flat and second over fences for team points.
In Pre-Novice, Susan Jenkins took the first win of the day for BC.
Next up was Georgia Osborne in the intermediate division with a fourth place on the flat and a win over fences for team points.
Jenny Searles, Emelia Tumminello and Haley Partlow all rode well in the Novice division but yielded no points for the team or individually.
BC closed the day with strong rides in the Limit Division with Katelyn Dugan placing second over fences for the team and Emily Nuthall winning as an individual. Dugan then won in the flat to close out the team scoring.
Bridgewater's 33-point total tied for fourth place with Washington and Lee. Virginia Tech placed first with with37 points followed by the University of Virginia with 36 and Hollins with 35
