The Bridgewater College IDA team was busy with competitions this past weekend, first traveling to Blacksburg at Virginia Tech then hosting at home Sunday. Bridgewater picked up a pair of fifth-place finishes against the six regional teams.
The Bridgewater College IHSA team competed at the University of Virginia this past Sunday to close the fall semester season. Bridgewater placed third with 23 points. Virginai was first with 38 points while Hollins and Virginia Tech tied for second with 28 points each.
The Bridgewater IHSA tied for fourth place Saturday at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center in a show c0-hosted by Bridgewater and James Madison University.

The Bridgewater College equestrian program has sponsored an IDA (Intercollegiate Dressage Association) team for just five years. The IDA team now has its first national champion.
Michael Golinowski’s first season as an IHSA competitor at Bridgewater was quite the ride. He started the year expecting to compete for the Eagles in the novice classes. He finished the year, winning on one the biggest stages offered to IHSA riders.

Bridgewater College freshman Michael Golinowski was named the winner Friday at the inaugural IHSA Metropolitan Equitation Invitational hosted by Longines Masters of New York. The event was held at NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Coliseum and features three days of world-class equestrian competition.
Bridgewater received one of the two at-large invitations to compete as a team at the Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) National Championship Competition. Lake Erie College will host the national show at the George M. Humphrey Equestrian Center in Mentor, Ohio.
Bridgewater College junior Georgia Osborne earned a trip to the IHSA National Show with her performance Saturday at the Zones championship show. Osborne placed second in Novice on the Flat to qualify for nationals.
The Bridgewater College Equestrian Team had a solid performance at the final IHSA show of the season hosted by the University of Virginia. The Eagles finished fourth for the day and third overall in the region for the end of season points.
Bridgewater College rider Michael Golinowski has been selected as one of 24 IHSA Open Level Riders to compete in the Metropolitan Equitation Finals as an IHSA Showcase Class during The Longines Masters of New York, April 25-28, 2019.
Bridgewater College placed first Sunday in the IDA show hosted by Emory & Henry College. The Eagles finished with 19 points. Emory and Henry came in second with 14 points.
