Mann Sets School Career Scoring Record

blake mann- BC career scoring record- 131 points

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Bridgewater College men's lacrosse senior Blake Mann re-claimed the program career scoring record in Saturday's win vs. Averett, and this time is expected to hold onto it for years to come.

Mann scored a first quarter hat trick in that game to reach 131 career points. He also caused three turnovers in that opening period, two of which led to goals as BC raced to a 9-0 lead en route to a 25-2 victory.

Mann actually briefly held the record multiple times in the same game as a junior, tying Derrick Daniels '16 at 104 points late in the fourth quarter vs. Susquehanna and then setting the mark at 13:37 of the second quarter in a win vs. Virginia Wesleyan.

2017 senior Chris Voorhees totaled eight points in that contest however, with the duo teaming up on a Voorhees-to-Mann connection in the third quarter that put them both at 107 points. Mann tied Voorhees again in the fourth quarter at 108, but a hot streak from #13 down the stretch (28 points over the final eight games) meant that Mann would have to wait until his senior year to officially claim the record.

Mann already held the school record for goals, which now sits at 114. His 53 points last year are a Bridgewater single season record. He also tied an NCAA record in 2015 with two goals just four seconds apart.

A classmate of Mann's is closing in on the school career assists record, as Daniel Brown recorded his 40th vs. Averett- three shy of Daniels' mark.
