FOREST, Va. – The Bridgewater College Eagles placed five players on the All-ODAC men's soccer team released today by the conference office. The five selections are the most in program history.
Junior forward Thomas White earned first-team honors for the first time. Junior midfielder Leo Alcantara and senior goalkeeper Quentin Boric made the second team while senior defenders Matthew Pagano and Jacob Heiston received third-team honors.
White was named to the All-ODAC team for the third straight season. He was a third-team pick as a freshman and a second-team selection as a sophomore. White proved to be one of the most dynamic scorers in the conference this season, finishing with 28 points on 11 goals and six assists. He had four multi-goal games and five game-winning goals during the season.
Alcantara patrolled the midfield for Bridgewater. He finished the season with one goal and five assists. The one goal came in the ODAC semifinal, 1-0, victory over Lynchburg, sending the Eagles to the ODAC title game for the first time in program history. Boric posted six shutouts during the season, including two in victories over nationally-ranked Lynchburg. He finished the year with a 1.05 goals against average.
Pagano and Heiston anchored the backline that produced seven shutouts and held opponents to 20 goals in 19 games. Pagano, a third-team All-ODAC pick in 2016, scored one goal and had one assist while Heiston finished with two goals and four assists.
