Men's Swimming Finishes Seventh After Final Relay

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team wrapped up the 2019 ODAC championships in seventh place, just six points shy of sixth-place Emory & Henry.

The Eagles had beaten Emory & Henry in dual meet action this season on the final 200 free relay, but this time were overtaken on the final 400 freestyle relay for sixth place. Austin Bacon, Benjamin Dillon, Ben Williams and Raphael Stanek placed ninth in 3:43.20, while E&H was sixth after entering the event two points shy of the Eagles.

Dillon was 13th in the 200 fly (2:17.15) and Tito Alcazar was 15th in the 200 breast (2:32.86).

Bacon was fifth in the 1650 free with a school record 16:58.71. Williams swam 21:25.20 to place 18th in the 1650 free.

In other Sunday morning prelims, Stanek (54.79) was 26th in the 100 free.

Washington & Lee won the meet with 913 points, ahead of second place Roanoke (622).
