
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team opened its dual meet season with the first meet hosted by the new University of Lynchburg team.
The Eagles fell 187-54 to the hosts, and 192-39 to Mary Washington in a double-dual.
Freshman Ryan Cunningham set a school record in the 200 yard IM, placing third in 2:09.32.
Sophomore Austin Bacon had the team's best individual finish of the day, placing second in the 1000 free in 10:44.85.
Cunningham was also third in the 200 fly (2:05.10), while his brother Sean Cunningham was fifh in the 200 breast (2:31.93).
Benjamin Dillon was fourth in the 100 fly in 1:01.62, as was Bacon in the 500 free (5:18.65).
Ben Williams placed fifth in the 200 free with a time of 2:16.28.
Bacon, Dylan Shannon and the Cunninghams were third in the 200 free relay, touching in 1:39.27.
The Eagles (0-2, 0-1 ODAC) will swim at Hampden-Sydney next Friday.
