Cannon, Womack Take First At Washington & Lee

LEXINGTON, Va.- Freshman Dianté Cannon and Senior Davonta Womack led the Eagles at the Washington & Lee Track and Field Carnival. Cannon took first in the 200 meter dash (22.55) and Womack finished on top in the 100 meter dash (10.83).

Dirk Jones (11.21) and Anthony Lovelace (11.24) placed fifth and eighth respectively in the 100 meter dash. James Mayo took fourth in the 200 meter dash (22.83), followed by Jones in fifth (22.83) and Lovelace in eighth (22.84). 

Cannon added to his first place finish with a second place finish in the 400 meter dash. Mayo took fifth (50.90). 

Johnny Haizel-Cobbina placed eighth in the 800 meter dash (1:57.87). 

John Gieseler finished 7th in the 110 meter hurdles (16.61) and Christopher Moore placed third in the 400 meter hurdles (57.29). 

Freshman Griffin Simpson took fifth in his first outdoor pole vault (3.82m/12'6.25").

The Eagles had a strong showing in the triple jump as Rashon Davis took third (13.16m/43'2.25"), Brandon Christian took fifth (13.14m/42'1.5"), and Moore placed seventh (12.98m/42'7").

Corey Huffman led the throwers with an eighth place finish in the shot put (12.48m/40'11.5") and sixth place finish in the javelin throw (48.36m/158'8"). Richard Wojno finished eighth in javelin throw (46.44m/152'4").

Bridgewater returns to action next weekend at the Goucher College Track Classic in Towson, Md.
