Men's Track and Field Takes Home Four First Place Finishes At Goucher

TOWSON, Md. - The Bridgewater College men's track and field team earned four first place finishes on the way to an overall second place team finish at the Goucher College Track Classic. There were 14 men's teams at the meet. Dirk Jones, Christopher Moore, and Chase Rosenthal all brought home individual wins. The 4x400 relay team of Christopher Atkins, AJ Martin, James Mayo and Diante Cannon also took first (3:26.79). 

Jones took the top spot in the 100 meter dash (11.21) and Moore took home the title in the 400 meter hurdles (59.14). Moore also placed tenth in the 200 meter dash (25.00). Rosenthal won the triple jump (13.06m/42'10.25") and finished second in the 110 meter hurdles (15.36) for an impressive overall meet. 

The four Eagles who won the 4x400 relay also placed in the top ten in the 400 meter dash. Atkins finished fourth (51.50), followed by Cannon in fifth (51.54), Mayo in seventh (51.73), and Martin in eighth (51.82). 

Kenny Sullivan placed eighth in the 800 meter dash (2:08.23) with Shane Gibson taking 11th (2:08.23). 

Johnny Haizel-Cobbina had another succesful meet in the 1500 meters, this week taking second place (4:15.52). 

Myles Conley placed seventh in the 400 meter hurdles (1:02.73) and Noah Howell finished fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase (10:40.85).

Brandon Christian took fifth in the high jump (1.72m/5'7.75). 

The throwers were once again led by Corey Huffman. The senior finished sixth in the shot put (11.83m/38'9.75"), second in the discus (42.04m/137'11"), fourth in the hammer (39.30m/128'11"), and sixth in the javelin (45.42m/149'0"). Michael Lotts took fifth in the shot put (11.88m/38'11.75") and seventh in the hammer (36.09m/118'5"). Reginald Patterson III earned a pair of seventh place finishes in the shot put (11.32m/37'1.75") and the discus (33.62m/110'3").

Wyatt Hall took eight in the discus (33.43m/109'8") and Richard Wojno placed seventh in the javelin (43.14m/141'6").

The men's track and field team hosts the annual Doc Jopson Invitational next weekend.
