Three Eagles Lower Their Own Records at Friday Prelims

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three Eagles broke their own school records, in the first day of preliminaries at the 2019 ODAC swimming championships.

Olivia Heeb-Wade swam 5:29.37 to break her own yardage mark and place 13th in the 500 free prelims. Kaitlyn Hilliker (16th, 5:47.73) edged teammate Laurel Glover (5:49.27) for the final spot in the finals.

Austin Bacon did the same in the men's 500 free, swimming a record 4:58.47 to make the B final in 12th. Ben Williams (5:48.10) placed 27th.

Benjamin Dillon lowered his school mark in the 200 IM, touching in 2:15.25 and making the B final in 15th place.

In the women's 200 IM, Rachael King (12th, 2:19.78) and Jessica Touve (14th, 2:20.63) made the B finals tonight. Senior Phoebe Hart finished 22nd with a time of 2:50.93.

Competing in the 50 free were Emma Daw (20th, 26.19), Genevieve Young (26th, 27.15), Jenna Walmer (27th, 27.47), Taylor Berard (29th, 27.70), Amanda Nesselrodt (31st, 28.25) and Lexi Lease (39th, 30.02); and Raphael Stanek (29th, 24.46) for the men.

The women will be the fifth seed in the 200 free relay finals and fourth in the 400 medley relay finals tonight.

Bridgewater's men will be seventh in the 400 medley relay finals (4:12.11), but missed out on the A final of the 200 free relay, placing ninth in qualifying with a time of 1:38.58.

The first evening of finals will commence tonight at 6 p.m.
