Eagles Make A Finals at Saturday ODAC Prelims

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Several Eagle swimmers made A finals, at the second morning of prelims at the ODAC championships.

Austin Bacon became the first Bridgewater men's swimmer to make an A final, placing fourth in 400 IM prelims (4:26.08). Benjamin Dillon (15th, 4:58.85) also advanced in that event.

Ben Williams set a school record in the 200 free, placing 19th in 2:05.72. Tito Alcazar was 22nd in the 100 breast (1:07.29).

The BC men set a third school record in the session in the 200 medley relay, with Dillon, Alcazar, Bacon and Raphael Stanek swimming 1:48.31.

For the women, Kelley Hilliker broke her own school mark and made the A finals in the 400 IM, in 4:47.42. Rachael King (11th, 4:58.68) and Phoebe Hart (16th, 6:15.33) advanced to the B finals.

Hilliker made a second A final today in the 100 backstroke (1:00.62). Laurel Glover (15th, 1:05.60) and Morgan Beauregard (16th, 1:06.48) advanced, with Amanda Nesselrodt (1:06.76) missing out by one place.

Emma Daw (11th, 1:02.98), Genevieve Young (14th, 1:05.61) and Beauregard (16th, 1:12.20) all advanced to the B final of the 100 fly.

In the 200 free, Taylor Berard was 15th (2:13.81) and Jessy Wilson was 19th (2:25.34). The 100 breast saw Olivia Heeb-Wade (12th, 1:11.62) and Jenna Walmer (15th, 1:15.07) advance.

The women's 200 medley relay team will be seeded fifth after a prelim time of 2:01.18.

Tonight's finals will begin at 6 p.m.
