Women's Swimming Opens Season With Challenging Double-Dual

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team opened the regular season with a challenging double-dual, losing 184-59 to Mary Washington and 175-75 to Lynchburg.

Senior Olivia Heeb-Wade had an excellent distance day, winning the 1000 free in 11:35.35 and placing second in the 500 free (5:37.38). She was also fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.25.

Sophomore Amanda Nesselrodt was third in the 200 backstroke (2:27.90), and fourth in the 100 back (1:08.22).

Freshman Lauren Kokoski was fourth in the 200 IM (2:38.15), edging teammate Rachael King (2:38.76), while also placing fourth in the 200 back with a time of 2:30.70.

Genevieve Young added a fourth place finish in the 100 fly, in 1:09.82.

Heeb-Wade, Kaitlyn Hilliker, Kokoski and Nesselrodt were fourth in the 200 free relay in 1:56.91.

Bridgewater (0-2, 0-1 ODAC) will swim against Sweet Briar next Friday in a meet hosted by Hampden-Sydney College.
