Women's Swimming Sweeps Home Opener

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team swept its first meet of the season at Nininger Pool, beating Gallaudet 173-67 and Hollins 135-104.

Four different Eagles won multiple individual events.

Rachael King started things off with a victory in the 800 free (10:58.25), and later took the 100 fly in 1:13.41.

Amanda Nesselrodt touched first in both the 50 and 100 backstroke events, in 36.26 and 1:15.73 respectively.

Zoe Moore claimed both the 50 free (30.35) and 100 breaststroke (1:23.79).

Olivia Heeb-Wade won two races in a three-event span late in the meet, taking the 400 free (4:56.41) and 100 IM (1:16.56).

The Eagles also took first place in the 200 medley relay, with Nesselrodt, Heeb-Wade and Moore teaming with Lauren Kokoski for a time of 2:20.48.

The Eagles (4-2, 2-1 ODAC) will be home the next two weekends, including a meet vs. Randolph-Macon next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
