Women's Lax Moves to 2-1 in Conference Play

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team improved to 2-1 in ODAC play with a 23-4 victory at Randolph on Saturday.

Jacqueline DiFulvio (five goals, assist) and Anna O'Hara (four goals, two assists) led the attack with six points each. Kristen Stark had a trio of both goals and assists, and fellow senior Phoebe Hart totaled two goals and two assists. Sarah Yashinskie's hat trick ensured that all four BC seniors finished with at least three points on the day.

The Eagles raced out to a 13-0 lead in the opening 26+ minutes.

Yashinskie had a hat trick in the opening eight minutes, and Hart followed for a 6-0 BC lead.

A DiFulvio goal and two straight by Stark pushed the lead to 9-0, and O'Hara made it double-digits less then halfway through the first half.

DiFulvio finished off a Hart pass and then scored on an eight-meter to make it 13-0 with 3:58 left in the first half.

Dwyer Neal scored in the final minute of the first half to give Bridgewater a 14-1 lead at halftime.

Shannon Rogers, Jodie Welsh, Neal and O'Hara scored the final four goals of the game to make the score 23-4.

Melissa Wilson won seven draw controls, and Tori Hudson had a game-high four ground balls.

Mikaela Brooks made four saves as BC improved to 3-1 since her return to the lineup.

Bridgewater (3-8, 2-1 ODAC) will travel to Roanoke next Saturday.
