Women's Lacrosse Loses at Roanoke

SALEM, Va. – Roanoke scored on 7-of-9 free position chances in the first half, as the Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team lost 22-4 on Saturday.

Sarah Yashinskie scored the game's opening goal for Bridgewater before the Maroons ran off the next nine straight.

The draw controls were relatively even at 13-12 Roanoke, with Yashinskie totaling five and tying the school career record of 154 (matching Kayla O'Sullivan '18).

Jacqueline DiFulvio scored twice for Bridgewater, while Anna O'Hara led the team in ground balls (three) and caused turnovers (two).

Jodie Welsh made it 9-2 after the early Maroons run, and DiFulvio answered a Jenn Schechheimer goal for a 10-3 scoreline.

Roanoke would respond with a 12-0 run, before DiFulvio capped the scoring off an assist from Kristen Stark with 1:31 left in the contest.

Roanoke got nine points from Schwechheimer (four goals, five assists), while Lilly Blair totaled five goals and two assists.

Mikaela Brooks stopped 11 shots for the Eagles, with Carly Schoudel recording seven saves on 10 shots for Roanoke.

Bridgewater is 3-9, 2-2 ODAC and will host Shenandoah on Wednesday night.
