Marlins End Women's Soccer Winning Streak

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Wesleyan defeated Bridgewater College 1-0 Tuesday evening, snapping the Eagles' seven-game winning streak.

Neither team was able to put a shot on goal in the scoreless first half. The Marlins held a slight 6-4 edge it total shots. Bridgewater was unable to get the offense untracked in the second half as the Marlins outshot the Eagles 9-0.

Virginia Wesleyan scored the game's only goal when Shae Geary found the back of the net in the 63rd minute.

Eagles goalkeeper Sydney Davis finished the contest with three saves. The goal allowed by Davis was the first against the junior keeper in more than 413 minutes.

The Eagles, now 10-6-2 overall and 6-4 in the ODAC, will wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they host Washington and Lee. Start time for the Senior Day Game is 1:00 p.m.
