Women's Tennis Blanks Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Bridgewater rolled to a 9-0 victory Saturday over the Guilford College Quakers in ODAC women's tennis action.

The Eagles swept the three doubles matches, losing just one game. At No. 1 doubles, Whitney Kiser and Nicole Shifflett defeated Guilford's Makayla McLaurin and Delaney Taylor 8-1. Bridgewater's Stephanie Barton and Rachel Crawford took the win at No. 2 while Alexia Will and Caroline Edwards won at No. 3. Both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles won by a score of 8-0.

The Eagles swept singles action, winning each flight in straight sets.

Kiser downed McLaurin 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Shifflett stopped Taylor 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 2 slot. At No. 3, Barton rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Guilford's Olivia LaGarzo while Crawford coasted to a 6-0. 6-0 win over Megan Kimpel at No. 4. Will defeated Alex Giddens 6-2, 6-2 to win the point at No. 5 and Bridgewater's Emily Daigneault downed Jessica Fuentes 6-0, 6-1 to take the win at No. 6.
