Women's Tennis Defeats Shenandoah, 7-2

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College dominated doubles action to take a 3-0 lead and the Eagles went on to defeat Shenandoah, 7-2, Tuesday in ODAC women's tennis action played on Mapp Courts.

The Eagles lost just a total of three games in the three doubles matches. Rachel Crawford and Stephanie Barton scored the first point with an 8-0 vicotry over Emma Crue and Madison Rogers at the No. 2 position. Whitney Kiser and Nicole Shifflett matched the result with an 8-0 win at No. 1 over Shenandoah's Madison Hansen and Megan Hillyard. Emily Daigneault and Alexia Will completed the sweep with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles over Madison Hoilman and Caitlin Bennett.

Daigneault was first off the court in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 5 slot over Bennett. Shifflett added the winning point with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 over Rogers.
 
Kiser coasted to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Hansen at No.1 before the Hornets scored their first point when Hillyard defeated Will 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 position. Crawford took the win at No. 3, defeating Crue 6-3, 6-0 for the Eagles final point. Hoilman took the final point of the match with a split set 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) victory over Bridgewater's Katie Austin at No. 6.
