Women's Tennis Competes at ITA Regional

Coach Robinson talks with Whitney Kiser

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's tennis team competed Saturday at the ITA Southeast Regional at the University of Mary Washington.

In the B singles, Whitney Kiser lost her first-round match in straight sets while in the C singles Nicole Shifflett lost in the first round in three sets 7-6, 1-6, 1-0 (10-5)

Bridgewater's Emily Daigneault and Rachel Crawford both won first-round matches in D singles. Daigneault won 6-1, 6-0 while Crawford outlasted her opponent 1-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-4). Both BC players lost in the quarterfinal round. Daignealt lost in straight sets while Crawford lost her match in three sets 4-6, 5-1, 1-0 (11-9).

In flight E singles, Ali Keister won her first-round match 6-1, 6-2 while teammate Malena Hoover lost her match in straight sets. Keister then lost a close quarterfinal match 7-6, 7-5.

In doubles play, in the B doubles, Kiser-Shifflett lost their opening-round match. In C doubles, Daigneault and Keister won their opening match 8-5 while teammates Crawford and Hoover lost a close 8-7 match.

Action continues Sunday at the ITA regional.
