Wattai, Hartman have strong showings at Liberty

Courtney Hartman and Jill Wattai paced the Bridgewater College women's track team at Saturday's Liberty Invitational.

Hartman finished the two-day competition in the heptahtlon with a total of 4,245 points to meet the NCAA provisional qualifying standard.

Wattai put her name in the record books in both sprints. She placed sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.58 seconds and then finished fifth in the 200 with a time of 25.39 seconds. Both times established new Bridgewater College records.

Also turning in solid efforts for the Eagles were Sammy Mizerak with fourth-place finishes in both the 400 hurdles and the javelin and Erin Boston with a second-place finish in the high jump.
