Throwers Compete at New Captains Classic

Newport News, Va. – The Bridgewater College track and field program sent its throwers to compete in the New Captains Classic hosted by Christopher Newport on Friday.

In the women's hammer, junior Katelyn Senger tossed 39.13 meters (128-4ft) and freshman Maura Tudja posted a mark of 30.85 meters (101-2ft).

Senger heaved the javelin 26.98 meters (80-7ft), while Tudja reached a distance of 18.48 meters (60-7ft).

Sophomore Prescott Terrell threw the hammer 40.80 meters (133-10ft) and freshman Corey Huffman recorded a mark of 34.36 meters (112-9ft).

Huffman also notched 39.89 meters (130-10ft) during the men's javelin.

The Eagles wrap up the remaining throwing event at the New Captains Classic tomorrow and will also send athletes to compete in the Hopkins/Loyola Track & Field Invite with the Outdoor ODAC Championships only a week away.
