Women Earn Second at ODAC Championships

BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The 2018 Bridgewater College women's track and field team finished with a total of 165 points Saturday, finishing second at the 2018 ODAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

The Eagles entered day two of the championships just four points behind Lynchburg with a total of 64 points.

Amber Celen won the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.77. Celen's second win came in the 100 meter hurdles at 15.31. Emily Valle also finished second in the event at 15.39.

Valle won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.31. Erin Fitzpatrick finished fifth at 1:11.52.

Celen also finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.35.

Tye Meador was sixth in the 200 meter dash (26.69) as well as the 400 meter (1:02.56).

Emily Young earned third overall in the 800 meter with a time of 2:21.23.

Calista Ariel was third in the women's 1500 meter with a time of 4:51.29.

BC finished fifth in the 4 x400 meter relay at 4:11.23 on a team of Courtney Adams, Meador, Celen, and Valle.

Adams won the women's pole vault on a mark of 3.35 meters (10' 11¾"). Adams also got her second win in the triple jump with a mark of 11.40 meters (37' 5").

Sydne Moseley represented BC in the women's discus with a sixth place finish overall on a mark of 30.95 meters (101' 6").

The women's team finished with a total of 165 points, while Lynchburg took the top spot with 195 points.

The Eagles will travel to Lyncburg, Va. on May 2 for the Liberty Twilight Qualifier.
