TOWSON, Md. - Calista Ariel and Kacee Hooker each took home a first place finish for the Bridgewater College women's track and field team at the Goucher College Track Classic. The women's team finished sixth overall out of 11 teams.
Ariel won the 3000 meter steeplechase (11:27.60) in her only event of the day. Hooker took first in the 400 meter dash (1:01.57) to go with a third place finish in the 200 meter dash (27.06).
Tye Meador ran a 13.25 100 meter dash in the prelims for fifth place heading into the finals. She did not compete in the final race. The senior also took fourth in the 200 meter dash (27.22).
The 4x100 team of Meador, Hooker, Neff and Blake took home second place (50.89), finishing .23 behind the first place team.
Sydne Moseley led the throwers with a sixth place finish in the shot put (10.42m/34'2.25"), 11th place finish in the discus (26.40m/86'7"), and seventh place finish in the hammer (35.39m/116'1"). Chloe Ferguson took eighth in the shot put (10.10m/33'1.75") and 16th in the discus (23.98m/78'8"). Nia Lloyd finished tenth in the shot put (9.96m/32'8.25") and 18th in the discus (22.55m/73'11"). Olivia Kloster placed 15th in the shot put (9.45m/31'0").
Bridgewater is back in action next weekend as they host the annual Doc Jopson Invitational.
