BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Eagles took home wins in the 4x100 meter relay, 1,500 meter run, long jump, 400 meter hurdles, and 5,000 meter run at the annual Doc Jopson Invite, hosted by Bridgewater. The team also recognized its seniors at the meet.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Tye Meador, Destiny Neff, Kacee Hooker and Emily Valle started the day with a win for the Eagles (48.95). Hooker added an individual win in the 400 meter hurdles (1:07.09).
Neff finished sixth in the 100 meter dash (13.28).
Sydne Moseley led the Eagle throwers, finishing second in the hammer (37.77m/123'11"), third in the javelin (26.17m/85'10"), and second in the shot put (10.57m/34'8.25"). Olivia Kloster also had a strong day, taking third in the hammer (35.11m/115'2"), sixth in the shot put (9.73m/31'11.25"), and second in the discus (31.22m/102'5").
Nia Lloyd placed fifth in the hammer (29.89m/98'1"), fourth in the javelin (23.10m/75'9"), and seventh in the discus (23.18m/76'0"). Chloe Ferguson placed sixth in the hammer (28.91m/94'10"), fourth in the shot put (10.49m/34'5"), and seventh in the discus (25.31m/83'0").
The Eagles return to action next weekend at the Elon Invitational in Elon, N.C.
