Jackson Wins Conference Title in 10,000 Meter Run

LYNCHBURG, Va. - English Jackson won the ODAC title in the 10,000 meter run on day one of the ODAC Outdoor Championships. The Eagles, who only had four athletes compete on day one, are in third place with 14 points. Lynchburg leads with 35 points, followed by Roanoke with 34 points.

Jackson finished the 10,000 meters in 38:13.67, getting the win by two seconds. She won the conference title in the mile during the indoor season.

Jenna Rea also contributed points in the 10,000 meters, finishing in sixth (39:53.11).

The other two Eagles competed in the high jump. Erin Fitzpatrick contributed a point, coming in eighth (1.47m/4'9.75"). Katie McElroy finished 15th (1.42m/4'7.75").

The women's javelin throw was scheduled for day one but was moved to day two due to inclement weather.

Bridgewater returns to action tomorrow for day two of the championships.
