Ariel Makes Finals at NCAA Outdoor Nationals

GENEVA, Ohio. - Junior Calista Ariel has qualified for the 3,000 meter steeplechase final at the NCAA Outdoor Nationals while teammates Emily Valle and Tye Meador wrapped up their 2019 season.

Ariel finished fourth in her heat with a time of 10:53.05 to advance to the final. The top five runners from each heat plus the next best four athletes will compete in the finals on Saturday.

Valle finished 10th in the 400 meter hurdles (1:02.68), missing the finals by just 0.21 seconds. 

Meador finished 13th in the long jump (5.58m). The top nine athletes advanced. She wraps up a stellar career that culminated in her first nationals appearance and being named the South/Southeast Region Field Athlete of the Year.
