BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College volleyball team will face Washington & Lee in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Volleyball Championships on Wednesday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m.  The Eagles earned the No. 4 seed with a 23-6 overall record and a 9-3 conference record. They will take on the No. 5 Generals Wednesday night in Nininger Hall.

Bridgewater defeated Washington & Lee 3-0 earlier in the season at Nininger Hall. It was the Eagles first win over the Generals since 2013. Rachel Gaston paced the Eagles in the win with 14 kills and 11 digs. Taylor McNeely recorded a match high 22 digs with Grace Hayes dishing out 35 assists in the sweep.

Brynne Gould led the Generals with 12 kills and Caroline Gard had 13 digs.

So far this season, Gaston ranks second in the ODAC in kills per set (3.91) and third in total kills (371). She is also ninth in total digs (375) and eighth in digs per set (3.95). McNeely sits at second in the conference in digs per set (5.03) and third in total digs (488), making the Eagles the only team in the ODAC with two players in the top ten of both passing statistical categories.

Freshman Hayes took over the Eagles offense this season and leads the ODAC in assists per set (9.77). Emily Hanger has also enjoyed a breakout junior campaign and ranks fifth in the conference in hitting percentage (.313).

The Generals are also no stranger to the top of the statistical leader boards. Gould is third in kills per set (3.77) and first in total kills (433), while Gard leads in total digs (550) and is fourth in digs per set (4.66). Anna Soroka, who set for the Generals in the loss to Bridgewater, is second in assists per set (8.44). Ashley Webb has since taken the reigns as the Generals primary setter and has climbed to fifth in the conference in assists per set (6.46).

Washington & Lee posts a 23-9 overall record and 9-3 conference record. They are coming off three straight losses after a weekend at the Emory National Invitational.

Bridgewater is encouraging fans to wear white to the match to support the Eagles. The winner of Wednesday's match will advance to semifinals on Friday, November 8 and face either Randolph-Macon or Randolph for a chance at the ODAC title the following day.
