Volleyball Announces 2019 Schedule

2019 Bridgewater College Volleyball Schedule

BRIDGEWATER, Va.  Bridgewater College head volleyball coach Erin Harris has announced the program's 2019 schedule. 

The Eagles are coming off one of the best seasons in program history, finishing with a 24-7 record. Returning outside hitter Rachel Gaston and graduated senior setter Victoria Wilson became the program's first All-Americans while Harris was named the ODAC Coach of the Year. Gaston was also named the ODAC and VaSID State Player of the Year.

The 2019 season features nine home dates, kicking off with the Route 42 Classic on August 30-August 31. The tournament is co-hosted by Bridgewater and Eastern Mennonite. The Eagles will play Wilson, Salem, Meredith and Catholic in Nininger Hall along with hosting neutral site matches. Eastern Mennonite will host the other half of the tournament in Harrisonburg.

After going to the Roanoke Maroon Classic in Salem the following weekend, Bridgewater will open ODAC play on the road against Shenandoah on September 11. The Eagles first ODAC home match will take place on September 14 against Hollins in a tri-match with Greensboro.

Bridgewater will also host ODAC competitors Lynchburg, Washington & Lee, Ferrum, Randolph-Macon and Emory & Henry this season.

The team will recognize its senior class on October 26 against Goucher. The team's annual Dig Pink match will be on October 31 as the Eagles take on Emory & Henry.

The ODAC Quarterfinals will be held on November 6 hosted by the top-four seeds. Bridgewater has hosted a quarterfinal match the past three seasons. The semifinals and finals will take place November 8-November 9 at the highest remaining seed.
