In 2017, Billy Cameron enters his fifth season as the top assistant coach for the Bridgewater College men's lacrosse program.

On March 2, 2012, Bridgewater College head coach Mic Grant named Cameron as the assistant coach for the Eagles' upstart men's lacrosse program.

Bridgewater won a program-record seven games in 2016, including a road victory over fifth-place ODAC squad Virginia Wesleyan. The Eagles had two road victories in conference play for the first time, and graduated their first full Senior class of 13 players.

In 2015, Bridgewater won multiple conference games and earned its first ODAC road win with a 16-8 triumph at Randolph.

A product of nationally-ranked Roanoke College, Cameron primarily handles the Eagles offensive attack and also works with the face-off midfielders.

Cameron came to Bridgewater after serving as the head coach for the Southern Virginia Select Lacrosse club for the past three years. Aside from his club coaching duties, Cameron also was the assistant boys lacrosse coach at Salem High School, where he coordinated the offense and helped propel the Spartans to the VHSL 'AA' state quarterfinals and a final ranking in the top 15 in the Old Dominion State.

A four-year starter and 2008 All-American, Cameron played for Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Roanoke. Cameron was a first team All-ODAC selection as a senior and helped lead the Maroons to a pair of NCAA semifinal appearances and two ODAC Championships. Recently, Cameron also served as a volunteer assistant at Roanoke.

Prior to his time at Bridgewater, Cameron was a special education instructional assistant at Salem High School, working with students with multiple disabilities.
