Box Score Jessica Timberlake hit 1-of-2 free throws with two seconds left
in the game Saturday afternoon as the Eagles escaped Nininger Hall
with a 50-49 victory over Washington & Lee in ODAC
women's basketball action.
The Eagles led by five, 48-43, with just 42 seconds left in the
game, but Kristen Krouchick knocked down a 3-pointer to cut the
lead to two, 48-46, with 29 seconds on the clock.
Timberlake missed the front end of a one-and-one but the Generals
turned the ball over and fouled Timberlake again. This time she
made 1-of-2 foul shots with 16 seconds left, giving BC a 49-46
lead.
Amanda Kane hit a long 3-pointer with five seconds remaining to tie
the score, but the Generals fouled Timberlake in the backcourt and
she made the second of a two-shot foul for the winning point.
Timberlake scored 11 points while Emileigh Lambert and Nikki Sydnor
scored 10 points each for the Eagles. Rebecca Henderson finished
with eight blocked shots for the Eagles. Kane scored 14 points and
grabbed 12 rebounds to lead W&L and Felice Herman added 12
points.
The Eagles are now 8-7 overall and 6-5 in the ODAC while the
Generals drop to 4-12 overall and 3-8 in the ODAC.
