Ferrum College built a 13-point lead in the second half and held off a late Bridgewater rally to defeat the Eagles, 79-71, in women's basketball action Thursday.

The Eagles trimmed the 13-point deficit to one in the final two minutes but the Panthers hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Jordan Burkholder led the Eagles with 23 points. Kristin Bosserman and Jennifer Saunders added 10 point each for the Eagles.
