Bridgewater College played on even terms with No. 3 ranked Mary Washington in first half but the hosts pulled away in the second half to post an 81-56 victory Tuesday night.

Bridgewater trailed by just three at the half, 35-32, but Mary Washington shot 62.5 percent in the second half to outscore the Eagles 46-24 to pull away for the victory.

Jordan Burkholder led the Eagles with 15 points and nine rebounds, both team highs. Nikki Sydnor scored eight points and Kristin Bosserman and Jessica Timberlake added seven each.

Liz Hickey and Ashton Mitchell scored 12 points each to lead a balanced Mary Washington attack.

Bridgewater is now 9-10 on the season while Mary Washington improves to 19-1.
