Box Score Bridgewater College outscored Emory & Henry College 38-19 in
the second half Saturday afternoon to pull away for a 59-43 victory
in ODAC women's basketball action.
E&H led by three, 24-21, at the half, but the Eagles defense
put the clamps on the Wasps in the final 20 minutes. E&H shot
just 20.7 percent in the second half, making just 6-of-29 shots
from the floor. For the game, the Wasps shot 28.8 percent.
The Eagles' also struggled at the offensive end, making just
32.8 percent of their shots. BC did make 20-0f-24 free throws (83.3
percent).
Jordan Burkholder led the Eagles with 18 points. Burkholder
struggled from the floor, shooting just 4-of-17, but she was a
perfect 10-of-10 at the foul line.
Kristin Bosserman also reached double figures with 11 points.
Rebecca Henderson led the Eagles on the boards with eight rebounds
and she also blocked six shots. Burkholder added six rebounds and
five steals and point guard Jessica Timberlake played the entire 40
minutes without committing a turnover.
Sarah Petty paced the E&H attack with 14 points.
The Eagles improved to 11-10 overall and 9-7 in the ODAC. E&H
dropped to 7-14, 5-11 in the ODAC.
