Field Hockey Wins Mapp Invitational

The Bridgewater College Field Hockey improved their record to 2-0 after defeating Sweet Briar College in the championship game of the Mapp Invitational.

BC got on the scoreboard four minutes into the game when Rachel Doria scored off a Brianna Jacques assist. Jacques then scored 10 minutes later. Sweet Briar's A. Keane scored at the 11 minute mark to make a 2-1 game at the half.

BC's Jacques scored two more times in the second half. With 21 minutes left to play she scored unassisted and then two minutes later scored off a Doria assist. Kristen Combs finished the scoring for the Eagles after receiving an assist from Kirsten Ganslow.

Bridgewater College senior defender Kathleen Tamberrino was named the tournament's most valuable player.

The Eagles are back in action next Saturday, September 6th when they travel to Dickinson.
