Bridgewater College trailed at the half, 38-26, Wednesday and the Eagles were unable to battle back in the second half as Virginia Wesleyan held on for a 73-62 victory.

The Eagles closed to within six in the final 10 minutes, but were unable to get any closer down the stretch. The Marlins connected on 23-of-25 foul shots to put the game away.

Jennifer Saunders led the Eagles with 14 points and Rebecca Henderson posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Burkholder scored 11 points.

Tonia Jones led the Marlins with 25 points.

The Eagles are now 8-8 overall and 6-5 in the ODAC. Virginia Wesleyan improves to 12-5 overall and 9-3 in the ODAC.
