Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - Senior Kelli Worst netted the
equalizer at the onset of the second half, but it was
Randolph-Macon's Nicole Klee scoring the game-winner as the
Bridgewater Eagles field hockey team (9-9) fell in the first round
of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament by a 2-1
score in Ashland, Va.
Randolph-Macon scored the first goal of the game at the 23:04
mark when Meredith Young found the back of the cage off of a pass
from Kendall Lam to put the Yellow Jackets up 1-0, which is where
the game would remain until the halftime intermission.
Bridgewater scored the tying goal just over two minutes into the
second half when Worst scored her first goal of the season to
bridge the score at one a piece.Worst's senior classmate Christina
Pybus recorded the assist on the BC goal.
Randolph-Macon then netted the game-winner at the 57:38 mark to
give the Yellow Jackets 2-1 lead to advance to the semifinals of
the ODAC tournament.
A quintet of Eagles tallied two shots on the day, while junior
Leah Cossentino led BC with a pair of shots on goal.
In the cage, senior Elizabeth Sullivan made 10 saves in her
final game in the Crimson and Gold.
BC was outshot by a 22-11 tally, while RMC owned a 16-6
advantage in corners.
Bridgewater wraps up the season with a 9-9 mark.
