Box Score FERRUM, Va. - Ferrum College rallied from a
10-point halftime deficit to defeat Bridgewater College, 71-69,
Thursday in non-conference hoops action.
The Eagles turned in a strong defensive effort in the first half
and led 38-28 at the break when Jake Johnson hit a running
10-footer at the buzzer.
Ferrum responded from the opening possession in the second half
as the hit the Eagles with a 13-2 run to take a 41-40 lead.
The Eagles regained the upper hand and led by as many as five
midway through the second half.
Bridgewater still led led at the six minute mark but then Ferrum
grabbed the lead and did not trail the rest of the way.
The Eagles tied the score twice in the closing minutes, first at
62-62 on a bucket by Johnson and then again at 64-64 on a jumper by
Kordero Thompson with 1:58 left.
Ferrum's Jerrell Wade answered Thomspson's shot with a
3-pointer, giving Ferrum the lead for good.
Dominic Trawick led the Eagles with 17 points. He was joined in
double figures by Segar Jordan with 12, Johnson with 11 and Cody
Griffith with 10. Wade led all scorers with 22 points.
