Bridgewater College advanced to the seminfinals of the ODAC
men's basketball tournament with an 83-72
The Eagles will play Washington and Lee in Saturday's first
semifinal at 6 p.m. The Eagles won both regular season meetings
over the Generals.
Bridgewater led the Royals by six, 36-30, at halftime and stretched
the lead to double digits midway through the second half. The
Eagles defeated EMU for the third time this season.
Dominic Trawick finished with a double-double, scoring 22 points
and pulling down 11 rebounds. Jake Johnson continued his impressive
late-season play with 16 points. Kris Cecil scored 12 and Rob Rice
added 10 for BC. D.J. Hinson scored 20 points to lead EMU. The
Royals shot just 34.5 percent from the field. EMU's two All-ODAC
players - George Johnson and Hinson combined to shoot just 6-of-28
with Johnson going 0-for-10.
The Eagles continued to get strong play from its bench as the BC
reserves combined for 34 points and 12 rebounds.
Bridgewater owned the boards by a 43-30 margin. In addition to
Trawick's 11 rebounds, Justin Reavis added nine.
Bridgewater is now 15-11 on the season while EMU finishes its year
at 15-11.
