Following an unpredictable opening day at the ODAC Men's
Basketball Tournament, the Bridgewater College Eagles are left as
the highest seeded team in the field.
After watching No. 8 seed Washington and Lee stun top-seeded
Guilford in double overtime, the fourth-seeded Eagles went out and
defeated Eastern Mennonite, 83-71. The evening session finished
with two more upsets as No. 7 Virginia Wesleyan shocked No. 2
Randolph-Macon and No. 6 Hampden-Sydney defeated No. 3 Roanoke.
In today's first men's semifinal, Bridgewater meets W&L, a team
it defeated in both regular season meetings. Bridgewater defeated
the Generals in Nininger Hall, 55-42, and two weeks ago the Eagles
won in Lexington, 67-66, in overtime.
The Generals are led by junior forward Zac White, an honorable
mention All-ODAC pick. In the first-round upset of Guilford, White
scored just eight points, but point guard Isaiah Goodman knocked
down 24 to spark the Generals to the upset victory..
For the Eagles, Dominic Trawick posted a double-double with 22
points and 11 rebounds to lead BC past EMU in the first round..
