Bridgewater College picked up a huge victory on the road
Wednesday night as they held on to defeat Virginia Wesleyan,
71-66.
The Eagles shot 53 percent in the first half to lead 39-31 at the
break.
Bridgewater never trailed in the second half. The Eagles led by as
many as 10 points in the final 20 minutes, but the Marlins pull to
within three in the closing minutes but could get no closer.
Michael Oblitey led the Eagles with 20 points and D.J. Billups
added 19 off the bench.
The Eagles won the battle on the boards by a 41-32 margin with
Oblitey and Reavis leading the way with eight boards each.
Stephen Fields led the Marlins with 19 points but scored just four
in the second half.
Bridgewater is now 11-9 overall and 7-4 in the ODAC. The Marlins
are 12-9 and 6-6 in the ODAC.
