Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. - Lynchburg College shot 54
percent from the field Saturday afternoon and defeated the
Bridgewater College Eagles, 99-78, in ODAC men's basketball
action,.
The Hornets jumped out to an 18-7 lead in the first five minutes
and the Eagles never recovered. Lynchburg led by double figures the
rest of the way.
Leading 18-7, the Hornets went on a 24-7 run to open up a 42-14
lead with 5:50 left to play. Bridgewater closed the lead to 16
points at the break when Lyndon Humphries scored on a short jumper
and Cody Griffith added a pair of free throws for a 50-36 score at
the half.
The hot-shooting Hornets never let the Eagles back in the game
in the second half. Bridgewater closed to within 13 points on a
layup by Mark Gibbs with 18:12 left in the game, but the Eagles
would get no closer the rest of the way.
Nate Campbell led five Lynchburg players in the double figures
with 16 points.
Dominic Trawick led the Eagles with 23 points. Segar Jordan
added 14 points and Griffith finished with 13.
The Hornets dominated the boards against BC by a 45-29 margin.
Jeff Langrock had eight rebounds for Lynchburg while Trawick and
Jordan grabbed five each for the Eagles.
The loss was the sixth straight for the Eagles, now 3-8 overall
and 1-4 in the ODAC. Lynchburg is 6-7 overall and 2-3 in conference
play.
