BRIDGEWATER, Va. – In Old Dominion Athletic Conference action at Mapp Field, the Bridgewater Eagles field hockey team fell by a 2-0 margin to the visiting Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets.

Randolph-Macon struck at the 6:56 mark off of a Mary McCarthy goal to take an early 1-0 lead.

McCarthy netted her second goal of the game 10 minutes later to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead which is where the game would end, giving Bridgewater its second straight loss.

Bridgewater was outshot by a 10-6 tally, despite outshooting the Yellow Jackets by a 3-1 margin in the second half.

Sophomore Joan Burleson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) led the Bridgewater offense with two shots on the day.

In the cage, junior Taylor Waddell (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) turned away eight shots in the loss.

Bridgewater is back in action on Friday when it travels to Lynchburg. Action against the Hornets is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start.
