Box Score

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Bridgewater College Eagles closed out their regular season Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 victory at Washington and Lee in a key ODAC women's soccer contest.

The teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half and the score remained tied until the Eagles took advantage of a W&L foul in the box with 20 minutes left in the game.

Bridgewater sophompre Abby Dehoff  (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) took the penalty kick for the Eagles and made the goal to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead.

Bridgewater keeper Shauna Manovich (Front Royal, Va./Skyline) recorded a pair of saves to earn the shutout. The Generals held a 10-5 edge in shots over the Eagles.

The Bridgewater victory was its first over the Generals since the 2000 season and its first ever in Lexington.

With the win the Eagles finish the regular season with an 8-3 conference record - the best ODAC mark in the program's history.

The victory also clinches fourth place in the ODAC standings and guarantees a first-round home game for the Eagles in the conference tournament. It will be the first time the Eagles have hosted an ODAC tournament game in women's soccer.

Bridgewater will host a first round game next Saturday against Washington and Lee. The start time will be announced later this wek.
