Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. - After holding off the
majority of a first half barrage by the Eastern Mennonite Royals,
the Bridgewater Eagles field hockey team allowed three second-half
goals en route to a 4-0 loss at the hands of the Royals in a
crosstown ODAC showdown.
Despite being outshot by a 16-0
tally in the first half, the Bridgewater defense held the Royals to
just one goal as the game entered the intermission at a 1-0 Royals
advantage.
Out of the halftime break,
Bridgewater had a pair of opportunities, but both were thwarted by
the Royals defense, keeping the tally at 1-0.
The Royals added three second half
goals to drop the Eagles by a 4-0 score in the crosstown
battle.
Nicole Bencsik led the Royals with
two goals in the game.
Senior Kalah Hess (Lancaster,
Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) led the Eagles with two shots in the
loss.
The Eagles are back in action on
Saturday when they host Roanoke for Senior Day. Action from Mapp
Field is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
