Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - A 14-0 run late in the first
half proved to be the difference Wednesday night as
nationally-ranked Randolph-Macon defeated Bridgewater College,
77-69, in ODAC basketball action.
The Eagles trailed by just three, 28-25, with 4:49 left in the
first half, but the Yellow Jackets then hit the Eagles with a 14-0
run to take control of the game.
During the Randolph-Macon run, the Eagles were 0-for-4 from the
field and turned the ball over twice. With 2:28 left in the half, a
layup by Brandon Braxton capped off the Yellow Jackets run and gave
the hosts their biggest lead of the night, 42-25.
The Eagles were led by Dominic Trawick with 28 points. Jake
Johnson scored 16 and Cody Griffith added 10
Calvin Croskey paced the Yellow Jackets with 18 points and
Braxton finished with 14.
Randolph-Macon dominated the boards by a 41-26 margin. Kevin
Voelkel paced the winners with 11 boards while Trawick grabbed six
rebounds for the Eagles.
Bridgewater is now 9-11 overall and 6-7 in the ODAC.
Randolph-Macon improved to 18-4, 9-4 in the ODAC.
