BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's soccer team opened ODAC play Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over the Emory & Henry College Wasps, 3-1.

The Eagles took the lead early when Melainie Waters scored off an assist from Meghan Groos (Linden, Va./Warren County) to put BC on top 1-0 at the 11:00 mark.

Bridgewater scored again in the 25th minute when Abby Dehoff (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) found the back of the net off an assst from Waters for a 2-0 Eagles lead.

Bridgewater tallied its third goal when Amanda Michaels (Clifton, Va./Centreville) scored off an assist from Krissy Snyder (Eden, N.C./Morehead) for a 3-0 lead at the break.

Emory & Henry scored its lone goal early in the second half on a shot by Bethany Myer.

The Eagles held a large 19-2 edge in shots as well as a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Bridgewater is now 2-4-1 overall and 1-0 in the ODAC while E&H drops to 1-5, 0-1 in the conference.
