VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Wesleyan used a 15-0 first-half run to break the game open and the Marlins went on to defeat Bridgewater College, 86-59, Wednesday night in ODAC action.

The Eagles held the lead for most of the first 11 minutes of action before the Marlins' put together their game-breaking run.

The Marlins led by one, 19-18, with 8:30 left before a 15-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Ed Roberts, put Virginia Wesleyan on top, 34-18, with 5:55 left in the half.

At the break, Virginia Wesleyan led by 20 points, 45-25, and the Eagles could get no closer than 19 points in the second half.

Kyle Hammond paced the Eagles with 14 points. Cody Griffith added 11 points and Ronnie Thomas scored nine.

Donald Vaughn scored 18 points to lead the Marlins.

Bridgewater is now 6-12 overall and 2-7 in the ODAC while the nationally-ranked Marlins improve to 17-1 overall and 8-1 in the ODAC.
