Box Score ROANOKE, Va. - The Bridgewater College Eagles won their fourth straight game with a 6-0 victory Saturday afternoon over Hollins University.
The Eagles scored two goals in the first seven minutes of play to take control early.
Melanie Waters (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake Senior) put the Eagles on the board off an asssist from Mari Marotta (Clifton, Va./Centreville) and then Marotta scored off an assist from Meghan Groos (Linden, Va./Warren County) for a 2-0 Eagles lead.
Helen Feeser (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) scored off an assist from Jacey Kelley (Newburg, Pa./Shippinburg) in the 42nd minute for a 3-0 halftime lead,
The Eagles added three more goals in the second half.
A goal by Krissy Snyder (Eden, N.C./Morehead) made it 4-0 and Paxton Sauerwald (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) added the final two goals for the final 6-0 margin.
Three Bridgewater keepers combined for the shutout. Mackenzie Gates (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) recorded two saves while Cari Hensley (Danville, Va./George Washington) and Shauna Manovich (Front Royal, Va./Skyline) saved one shot each.
The assist by Gross moved the senior into a tie for the most assists in program history with 21. Groos tied the record set by Sarah Pritchett (1999-2002).
Marotta now has 10 assists this season, the most ever by an Eagles' first-year player.
Waters scored three goals this week and that moved the sophomore into the Top Five in career goals at BC with 19.
Bridgewater is now 10-3 overall and 5-2 in the ODAC. The Eagles return to action Wednesday evening when they travel to Eastern Mennonite for a 7:00 p.m. game.
